Cloud distribution

Explanations

The cloud distribution shows the cloud cover using colours and patterns. Stratus clouds are depicted as grey and yellow-orange areas. Convective clouds, however, are shown as patterns. The size and number of the elements is derived from the convection analysis. The map simulates a satellite image from the earth's orbit and was given a background colour of blue for easier recognition of the low number of cumulus clouds.
